ViVa, the maritime weather information service provided by Sjöfartsverket, offers near real-time observations of weather, wind, and water levels. With over 150 weather stations situated along Sweden's coastlines, as well as in select lakes and waterways, the system supplies data on wind speed and direction, water levels, water currents, temperature, salinity, density, air pressure, humidity, temperature, and visibility. Each station is equipped with a tailored set of sensors based on the specific requirements of maritime navigation, resulting in variations in measured parameters across locations.

Through ViVa, users can also access current sea weather forecasts and alerts issued by SMHI.

Sjöfartsverket emphasizes that it does not guarantee the absolute accuracy of all data provided. Navigators and maritime operators are responsible for assessing current weather and water conditions prior to embarking on any voyage.

The agency assures that the ViVa app functions correctly on the latest and previous versions of iOS. Although it remains possible to install the app on older iOS versions, no guarantees are provided regarding its functionality or bug fixes on those platforms.
